Laurence Charles Ruhf of Lake City passed away at his home on Friday, February 12, 2016. He was 71 years old.
He was born August 13, 1944 in Lansing, Michigan to Laurence Cassius and Lucile Mae (Hoisington) Ruhf.
He married Sandra Lee Ann (Belen) Ruhf on January 28, 1972 in Lansing, Michigan.
Larry graduated from Sexton High School, Lansing, Michigan, and obtained an Associate Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Technology Machining from Lansing Community College. His apprenticeship was with Demmer Tool and Die in Lansing, Michigan. He worked for Raytheon Missile Systems in Tuscan, Arizona for 33 years, retiring in 2015.
He volunteered as a football coach at Catalina Magnet High School, Sahuaro High School, and Cholla Magnet High School in Tuscon, Arizona. Larry was an avid Michigan State sports fan and loved to hunt and fish, especially in northern Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Melissa (John) Blanchard, Wendy Grogan, Christopher (Andrea) Ruhf, and Laurence (Yetive) Ruhf; sisters, Le Craven of Tuscan, AZ, Lorene Bouchard of Tuscan, AZ, and Lois (Midge) Taylor of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren, Ashleigh Grogan, Connor Grogan, Ted Blanchard, Vanessa Blanchard, Samantha Blanchard, Alexandra and Arya Ruhf, and Gwen, Penny, and Lucy Ruhf; and, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 21, 2016 in Tucson, AZ
