Keith O. Patterson, 65, of Lake City passed away at his home on Monday, June 20, 2016 surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 11, 1951 in Cadillac to Carl and Faye Patterson. He grew up in Marion and graduated from Marion High School in 1969. After graduating, Keith attended Harrison Community College where he studied business. He then enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard where he served from 1971-1974.

Keith married Kris Hollingsworth on June 21, 1980. His career in the propane industry began in 1979 with Northern Propane Gas. He continued to work for Buckeye and Ferrellgas and remained there until 1990 when he began working for Dart Propane. He retired as President of Dart Propane in 2008.

Keith loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and his fishing buddy and longtime friend, Keith Grandy, fished many tournaments together over the years. There were always fish stories to tell.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3884, American Legion Post #300 and the Lake City Masonic Lodge #408.

Keith is survived by his wife, Kris Patterson and son, Casey, father, Carl Patterson, sisters: Vickie (Jim) Harris of Greenville, Christie (Fred) Prielipp of Marion, brother: Mark (Andrea) Patterson of Carson City, father in law: Leo Hollingsworth of Lake City and brother in law Jon Hollingsworth of Stockton, California, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Faye Patterson and mother in law, Lois Hollingsworth.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, June 24, at 2:00 p.m. at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Jim Siler officiating. Please join us following the service for a Celebration of Life at the Lake City American Legion Post.

A private burial will take place at a later time in the Lake City Cemetery.
