Kay Don Russell of Lake City passed away at his home on Sunday, March 27, 2016. He was 74 years old.
He was born July 6, 1941 in Carrier Mills, Illinois to JC and Juanita (Middleton) Russell.
He married the former Eva Clark in Carrier Mills, Illinois.
Kay Don was a graduate of Carrier Mills High School, class of 1959, and Oakland City College. He was a fire fighter for Carrier Mills, Illinois and the City of Lake City. He served as Saline County Civil Defense Director. He was a Shriner for 30 years and a Mason. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Sons of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Eva; son and daughter-in-law, W. Scott and Stacey Russell of Lake City; son, Kurtis (Julie) Spradlin of Rochester, IL; grandchildren, Sebastian Russell, Shaina Mercy, Mia Russell, Ashley Spradlin, Kristin Spradlin, Alanna Jeska Russell, Nicole Chappa, and 4 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Jack Oertle of Carrier Mills, IL; niece, Alisha Randolph of Marion, IL; and nephew Russell Ridley of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be visitation on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Lake City Assembly of God Church at 680 N. Morey Rd. in Lake City.
A memorial service will begin at 4:00 pm with Pastor Carol Jackson Clapper officiating and a dinner to follow.
Burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery.
