Jon Charles Gilbert, age 72, of Lake City passed away at his home July 1, 2014.

He was born October 2, 1941 in Mt. Clemens to Arthur and Edna (Hurbert) Gilbert.

Jon served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and retired after 20 years of service.
He moved to the Manton area in 1991.
Jon had been actively involved in Missaukee Habitat of Humanity and was a member
of the Missaukee County Conservation Club.

Jon is survived by one brother Mick Gilbert of Lake City, a niece Constance Kulema and two nephews
Doug and Neil Emerald.

A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the Young Funeral Home with Pastor Wanda Teed officiating.

Burial will take place at the VanderWeide Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Missaukee County Conservation Club or the Merritt Golden Agers.
