Janice T. Warren (Gildner) of Lake City passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at Autumnwood of McBain. She was 87 years old. Janice was born May 27, 1929 in West Branch, Michigan to Harry E. and Rozena C. (Zettel) Gildner. She married Donald F. Warren in West Branch on August 21, 1948 after he returned from the military service. They lived with her parents and her grandmother and farmed for eight years. They moved to Alma where they lived for 18 years before moving to Freeland. They sold their home and began a 20 year journey traveling across the country in their motor home before permanently moving to Lake City in 2008. Janice was very athletic, and enjoyed playing volley ball, soft ball, swimming, bowling and shuffleboard. She loved picture puzzles, playing cards, visiting friends, being outside tending flower and vegetable gardens. Janice was very active in church serving as a Eucharistic Minister in Alma and Freeland, teaching religious education classes, and cleaning. She was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Lake City Janice was very well liked and enjoyed the many friendly visitors she received throughout her stay at Autumnwood. Janice is survived by her children: James (Vickie) Warren of Williamsburg; Thomas (Ann) Warren, of Inman, SC; Denise (Pete) Chase of Lake City; Lois (Michael) Dupuis of Ft. Myers, FL; Russell (Missy) Warren of Easley, SC; Ronald Warren of Memphis, TN; 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; a sister Luella Krutka of Tucson, AZ; a sister-in-law, Vera Gildner of Cheboygan and a sister in law, Doris Gildner of West Branch. She was preceded in death by her husband Don; her parents; brothers John and Kenneth Bensch, and Clifford, Ernest and Donald Gildner; sister Leona (Bensch) Linam, brother in law Paul Krutka and grandchild Luke Warren. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Lake City with the Rev. Bryan Medlin officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Young Funeral Home with a Vigil service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the Lake City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Stephen Catholic Church.
