James Francis Parniske

June 12, 1951 ~ August 30, 2015 (age 64) 64 Years Old
James Francis Parniske, age 64 of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 30, 2015, while camping at the Reedsburg Dam with his wife and family. He passed peacefully doing what he loved and surrounded by loved ones.

Jim was born in Jersey City, New Jersey June 12, 1951 to Gilbert and Rose (Wagner) Parniske.

He married the former Deborah Ernst on June 28, 1975 in Port Huron, MI. They recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Jim was a veteran of the US Army. He was a diesel mechanic and retired from the Port Huron Area School District as a beloved custodial "engineer". He retired three years ago and moved from the thumb area of Michigan to the great north in October of 2013 with his wife and son and their family.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to fish and camp and work on anything with an engine. He enjoyed, of course, fishing, watching the races, camping and being with his family. He spent many memory filled trips with his son, Jim, going fishing, going to MIS to Nascar races and working on numerous projects. He was a great man and will be missed so very much.

Jim is survived by his wife Deborah Parniske (Deb - Lake City Chamber of Commerce), Son- James P. Parniske and his wife, Jaclyn Parniske. His mother, Rose Wagner-Parniske, his sister, Kris Wiegand, two beautiful granddaughters, Haylee Jane and Reagan Sydney Parniske., nephew - Danny Wiegand and family, Uncle Bill and Aunt Margaret Parniske, Sister in law Dawn Hyslop, niece Amanda Swanson and his beloved dog "Buster Brown Dog" and many others.

He was preceded in his death by his father Gilbert Parniske, his step mother Lee Parniske, his mother and father in law, Percy and Jane Ernst, sister in law Kim DeJohn, beloved dog Sadie "McSaide" and many others.

Jim's final wishes were to be cremated. Any donations may be directed to:
