James Allen Burwell, age 63 of Lake City passed away suddenly Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home.

He was born October 28, 1951 in Goshen, Indiana to Darwin and Gloria (Hoffman) Burwell.

Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a Chaplain for Forgotten Man Ministries.
Jim was a hardworking family man who loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed his time in the woods.
He will be forever remembered and loved by all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Paula Beckwith. The mother of his children, Carla Hickman and his children Gloria Ann (Scott) Potter, Teresa Marie ( Scott) Rohn, Jacob Michael (Sandra) Burwell, Joseph Paul Burwell, Karen Denise Burwell, RoseMarie Elizabeth (Drew) Harvey and David Beckwith, twenty one grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers Dan (Rose) Burwell and John (Laurie) Gries and four sisters Patricia (Don) See, Kathi (Kemo) Kewaygoshkum, Theresa Marvel and Anna Marvel.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother Frankie Gries.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Jake Thomas officiating.
