Ivan Kenneth Quist, age 89, was born March 29, 1926 in Riverside Township, Missaukee County to Tony and Helen (Herweyer) Quist. He went to be with his Lord on May 7, 2015.

Ivan graduated from McBain High School in 1943 and then served in the United States Army. After his military service, he worked for Consumers Power Company for six years before becoming self employed by the Quist Oil Company for 35 years.

Ivan married the former Marjorie Taylor on February 8, 1947. They enjoyed 68 years together.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie and six sons: Roger (Olga) of Manistique, Dennis (Kim) of Morenci, Phillip (Darla) of Montgomery, Calvin (Carol) of Athens, Melvin (Kathleen) of McBain and Carl (Christie) of Lake City.

Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Quentin (Edith) and Clifford (Angeline) and a granddaughter, Laura.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Clam River Chapel in Falmouth with Rev. Larry Shetenhelm officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the Young Funeral Home in Lake City from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Burial will take place in the Richland Township Cemetery in Lucas.
