Freda Ann Lewis, age 65 of Lake City went to be with the Lord January 15, 2017 at home after over a yearlong battle of cancer.

She was born in Cadillac, May 18, 1951 to Arthur Ray and Dorothy May (Chrispell) Hancock.

Freda married James C. Lewis December 21, 1973.

She was a stay at home Mom while her children were young. She had been employed at Four Star, Cadillac Rubber and Plastics in Manton, Brandt’s Pharmacy and the Aloha AFC Home.

She enjoyed reading her Bible, being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a long time member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Lake City where she taught Sunday School. Some of her closest and dearest friends were members of the M & M Ladies group of the church, where she was a member.

Freda is survived by her husband, James C. and children: Lisa (Carl) Schmidt of Kaleva, Lorie (Randy) Kittle of Lake City, Bill (Amanda) Edwards of Tustin, Janie (Mike) Schneider of Lake City, Terry (Shelly) Lewis and Dan (Kris) Lewis both of Lake City, eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister: Jo Hose of Merritt and brother in law Ron Sikkema of Marion, sister in laws: Bonnie Matyanczyk, Marjory Tallam, Marilyn Houghton and Emma (Wilbert) Rohlman all of Lake City and brother in laws: Terry (Joyce) Lewis and Dennis Lewis both of Townsend, MT and Harold Lewis of Lake City. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Janice Richman, brothers: Lawrence, Russell, Terry and Evert Hancock, sisters: Lila Sikkema and Dorothy R. Travelbee, and parent in laws: Albert and Helena Lewis and several brother and sister in laws.

A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor Rosanne Anderson officiating. The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
