Elizabeth (Betty) Vanderwal, age 90, died peacefully at her home July 18, 2014.

She was born February 4, 1924 to Lloyd and Elizabeth Hunsberger of Merritt, Michigan.

Betty married Rudy Vanderwal June 1, 1946. Together they raised five children on their
dairy farm in Star City, Michigan.

She is survived by her children, Mary Boonstra, Frank (Ellen) Vanderwal, Sarah (Bill) Hamlet,
Judy (Harvey) Thompson, and Lyle (Pam) Vanderwal, fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, brothers Wendell Hunsberger,
Art (Lillian) Hunsberger, sister Minerva (Warren) Leeuw, and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Young Funeral Home
in Lake City, and 10:00 am Monday July 21, 2014 at Moddersville Reformed Church,
followed by a Funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev. Jerry Wheeler officiating.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Moddersville Reformed Church.

Burial will be in the Star City Cemetery.
