Clyde Ralph Kitchen of Lake City passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. He was 91 years old.
He was born on October 1, 1922 to Ralph and Dora (Allison) Kitchen in Lake Township, Missaukee County. He married Verda L. Sutton on April, 23, 1949 in Cadillac. Clyde worked for Kysor Industries for over 20 years in Cadillac. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Ben ( Helen) Kitchen of Cadillac, Mike (Marcella) Kitchen of Pickford, and Tom (Sis) Kitchen of Lake City; grandchildren, Joseph (Amy) Kitchen, Becky (James) Jetzke, John (Jess) Kitchen, Charlie (Angie) Kitchen, Connie (Chris) Hall, Jessica (David) VanderBrook, and Kate (Dave) Cobb; ten great- grandchildren, and one on the way; brother, Richard (Adeline) Kitchen of Lake City; and, sisters Delores Hunt, of Lake City, and Nellie Rogers, of Cadillac.
The funeral service will be held Friday, March 14 at 11:00 am at the Young Funeral Home with Terry and Molly Whetstone officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 4-8 pm. Burial will be in the Lake City Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
