Clarence Blaine Spence of Lake City passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at his home. He was 86 years old.
He was born on March 22, 1928 to Daniel O. and Mabel Stelle (Cheek) Spence in Pontiac, MI. Clarence married Maria Jean Bennett on April 4, 1953 in Milford, MI. Clarence served in the Army during WWII. He worked after the war for Thompson Greenhouse for many years and also for Bloomfield Glass Company. After retiring, they moved to the Lake City area for the last 12 years.
He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife; son, Mark (Sarah) Spence of Manton; daughter, Susan Spence of Lake City; five grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren; and sister, Juanita Thompson of Rochester, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one infant brother, Harold Spence.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Young Funeral Home with Pastor Dane Whitcomb officiating. Burial will be at the Lake City Cemetery.
