Cary (Ann) Minthorn, age 44, of Lake City, passed away at home, Saturday, January 30, 2016 from
Progressive Muscular Dystrophy.

Cary was born January 19, 1972 in Southfield, Michigan, but spent the majority of her life in Lake City.

She was a caregiver to many friends and family and in spite of her Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy, had a passion for swimming and motorcycle riding.

She is survived by her mother, Carolyn, brother, John (Anne) Minthorn, maternal grandfather, Gordon McEwen, great aunt, Mary (John) DuVall, great uncle, Elmer (Marjorie) Minthorn, uncles: Michael Minthorn, Paul (Diane) Minthorn and Douglas (Iris) McEwen, aunts, Dawn (Daniel) Mills and Susan McEwen, many cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph, paternal grandparents, William and Gladys Minthorn, maternal grandmother, Bernadine McEwen, uncles Donald McEwen and David Minthorn, cousins, Donald McEwen, Jr., and Wendy McEwen, and her boyfriend of fifteen years Keith Bauknecht.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Lake City American Legion for family and close friends.
