Barbara Helen Hooker-Johnston, age 67 of Lake City, passed away at her home December 30, 2014.

Barbara was born February 16, 1947 at the family home in Lake City to James Sr. and Nondis (Thomas) Hooker.

She was a retired beautician and loved being outside. Barbara enjoyed designing on her computer and loved spending time with family.

She is survived by her children: Meloney (Joe) Gilligan of Ohio, Holly (Jeremy) Hamilton of Falmouth, Heidy (Norm) Snyder of Leota and Jim Westdorp of McBain.

Her mother Nondis Zank of Lake City also survives her, as well as a brother, James (Sandra) Hooker Jr. and a sister, Alta Croton.

Barbara’s grandchildren are Cody Weatherspoon, Sierra Barnes, Jennifer Elliott, Kyle and Drew Hamilton, Keiana and Kaylee Westdorp, Josh Kamphouse and Elizabeth Snyder and her great grandchildren Destiny, Brookelyn, Waylon, and Brantley Barnes.

She was preceded in death by her father James Hooker Sr.

In honor of Barb, a memorial open house will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m., at 1744 N. Turnerville Road, Lake City.

Individuals may make memorial contributions to a charity of choice.
